Websites made with Google Business Profiles will be turned off soon

This feature is going away in the coming months and will no longer be supported.

If you or someone you know is using this free Google feature—you need to pay attention to what Google is saying.

Websites made with Google Business Profiles are basic websites powered by the information on your Business Profile. To be clear, only Google websites that end with business.site or negocio.site are included in this.

In March 2024, websites made with Google Business Profiles will be turned off and customers visiting your free Google site will be redirected to your Google Business Profile instead. That sounds scarier than it is, but it’s a bad customer experience in my opinion.

According to Google – the redirect will work until June 10, 2024 – after which it will show as unavailable. – That is as scary as it sounds. An unavailable website might give the false impression that you have gone out of business or forgot to pay your webhosting fees.

Keep in mind that you are able to update your Google Business Profile with a different website address. Let Ron the Web Guy know if you need help updating your Google Business Profile and/or building you a new website.
